No. 7 on the all-time top 10

Cabaiguan Guapos – 5.25x50  /  Nicaragua  /  Medium

Wow, has Pete Johnson and Don Pepin Garcia created one of the best cigars I have ever had.  The local cigar shop will give me his “new cigar list”, and I remember trying this one because the structure was awesome and it looked good. I guess you could say that I tasted with my eye, and my judgment was right on.  It was smooth, with an excellent draw, and the burn was very even. The taste was smooth and had some popping flavors. Thank you Pete Johnson and Jose “Don Pepin” Garcia!

Griffin's Classic Connecticut – 5x50  /  Dominican Republic  /  Mild

The Griffins cigar was good. I wasn’t blown away while smoking this cigar, but I did feel like it was a good anytime cigar. The draw was smooth, and the burn was even. It was very creamy with no hint of any spice. Any cigar smoker, from an every day smoker to an only on the golf course smoker, would enjoy this cigar.

Zino Classic No. 6 – 5x50  /  Dominican Republic  / Mild -  Medium

I am a huge Davidoff fan and with their line of Zino’s so I figured this is hands down must smoke and a guarantee that I will love it. But, that was all wrong for some reason I did not care for this cigar. It was the flavors that just weren’t there for me. Very dry and almost like dirt was in the leafs or something. That’s the best way I can describe it. The burn and draw were ok. I did have to re-light once so it would burn a little more even. You judge this one for yourself.

Sancho Panza Connecticut – 6x5o  /  Honduras  /  Medium

Don’t let the darkness of the wrapper confuse you, it is a Connecticut wrapper. I liked this cigar I am a big Connecticut fan and this one was great. I liked the flavor, burn and draw all was very smooth. It burned even from being lighted. It was a little richer in flavor than most Connecticut wrappers that I would consider in that mild to medium range. The flavors and strength picked up has the cigar smoked but never to strong or spicy. This cigar would also fit in what I would call a budget cigar.  I will have to post my budget cigar list soon.

Oliva Connecticut Reserve – 6x50  /  Nicaragua  /  Mild

If you love a mild cigar and no matter what level of cigar smoker you are, you will enjoy this cigar. This cigar is very creamy and smooth and does add some flavors, but trust me it will not overwhelm anyone. This cigar is different than most Oliva cigars they are known for their full flavored cigars so this was a nice touch to their line. Try this cigar, it has a great price point and you will not be let down.

La Goria Cubana
La Gloria Cubana Natural – 6x52  /  DominicanRepublic  /  Medium

This cigar was ok. To be honest, there isn’t much to write about. I would say its best feature was that it brought some good flavors. The draw and burn were ok. Oh, and one other thing is that it’s not too heavy on the pocket book.

My Father Le Bijou 1922

No. 9 on the all-time top 10
My Father Le Bijou 1922My Father Le Bijou 1922 – 6x52 / Nicaragua / Full

The appearance of this cigar is great with a nice, dark, oily wrapper. This is definitely a full flavored cigar, but it starts off milder and then really picks up as you get into it. When you reach the middle/end, the spices and flavors are full force with a nice, warm sweet taste. The burn is even, and the draw is fair. But, I was re-lighting it every time I set it down longer than a minute. This cigar had very high ratings on Cigar Aficionado, and this is why I tried it. I completely agree with them. Top Marks!
